Destiny Child Returns as Idle RPG Mobile Game
Destiny Child is Reborn: A New Idle RPG Experience
Destiny Child, the popular mobile game initially released in 2016, is making a triumphant return. Following its September 2023 "memorial" closure, Com2uS has partnered with ShiftUp to develop a brand-new iteration of the game.
A Fresh Take on a Classic
This isn't just a re-release; Com2uS is creating a completely new Destiny Child experience, this time as an idle RPG. Development is spearheaded by Com2uS's subsidiary, Tiki Taka Studio, known for their work on tactical RPGs like Arcana Tactics. While retaining the beloved 2D character art and emotional core of the original, the new game will feature a revamped gameplay system.
Revisiting the Past: The Memorial Version
The original Destiny Child, renowned for its charming characters and real-time combat, concluded its run after almost seven years. However, ShiftUp launched a memorial version, allowing former players to revisit the game's captivating visuals.
This memorial app isn't a fully functional game; it's a gallery showcasing the beautiful character illustrations. Access is restricted to players who had accounts before the shutdown, requiring verification using previous game data. It's a nostalgic trip down memory lane, a chance to reconnect with your favorite Childs and their classes, even without the battles. The memorial version is available on the Google Play Store, providing a temporary fix until the new game's release.
